battery disconnected, hood cables disconnected, had emergency pulls on hood release clips.. the on the pass. side came undone due to unknown resistance when pulling hard on it. Any good ideas on how to get hood to release? reason cables were disconnected is that I was replacing them so put clip ties inplace in case this happened. It worked many times b4, don't know why I didn't this time but had to put vette in place where hood needed to be shut to prevent unwanted hands from helping themselves.

There's a tool they sell on Ecklers and midamerica for it.
It takes some work to get the hood open with it, but you can get it. Reconnect your emergency release cable asap after cause it is a PITA to make the tool work at least in my experience.
The hardest part with using that tool is getting it properly positioned before you "rotate" the handle to release the hood. Once you have the "formual", wrap some black tape around the shaft to mark the insertion depth past the WS.

thanks for the advice.. can use all I can get on this project. I am usually not on this end of the questions.. this is whats makes this a great forum.
the one I got had a little black strip on it....if you hold it so it becomes an extension of the window trim angling down, that's far enough in....an xray machine would help....
Most of the videos show how to with the hood open...
I used the short hook end to pull out the foam padding and removed the padding close to the windshield.. You can then see the spring.. then the cable latch is just behind it.. I cant imagine trying to do this blind..
Find one close and have them open the hood and take some pictures.. and measure the lengths..
If I can help further please let me know..
Put " hood release broken " in the handy dandy search tool up top..lots of info there too..

You can see the two foam pads here..

It took me a while, to do it.
I definitely wouldn't do it after a few shots, or few beers until you really have it down pat.
Of course by then hopefully you've made some new emergency cables, and or fixed your latch release
My passenger side got stuck, cable needed adjusted, so I banked the wheel all the way to the left and then removed the inner wheel well, which let me lay with my back against the tire and finagle my arm up in around the support bar and I felt the spring then I felt the little lever and pulled it and then she pooped up. I didn't feel like buying a tool or waiting for one. Too impatient for that. Haha.
