Default Engine now up and running, minor issues

My replacement engine for my 1993 LT1 is in and running. Now I have some minor issues that need to be checked out. The newer engine had 32,000 miles and was from another "Ruby". I am using the harness and ecm that came with the new engine.

1. Primary fan runs continuously at startup when engine is cold

I replaced the coolant sensor on the water pump, but not the one on the block. Digital gauge seemed to be working ok, not sure about the analog one, it never seemed to be correct anyway.

2. No oil pressure on the analog gauge but has oil pressure. Oil temperature on the digital gauge seemed to be working. No oil leaks on engine. I did not replace either of the oil sensors, just incase one got broke upon installation. I do have new ones if I need to install them. If I remember correctly the electric plug ends are different for each one of them so they won't be connected incorrectly.

3. Does the A/C relay and the CAGS relay (Driver side fender well)use the same one. One was broke on the new engine and I thought on my old harness they were both the same, 5 pin?

Hopefully that is all of the problems that will arise. I did just think of something, and that is I better check the memcal as it may have a different chip in it to cause the fan to be on!

I don't like tracing electric problems, so will let my neighbor do that. Will try and look at FSM to see if I can figure anything out.

Thanks.

The engine seemed to idle real smooth and sounds good.

I would say the first thing is to go through and double check the related connections. There are a ton on these cars, and it seems pretty easy to miss something. Also the connectors themselves could have issues.

Good to hear the engine is running well, this means it is probably something pretty simple.

A/C has not been recharged and that maybe what is causing fan problem. FSM mention low freon could cause fan problem. Hopefully tonight that can go in. Will need to pull wire on pressure gauge to see if it is just the sensor.

After I drive it some, I have some other changes to make. Put the Bosch III's back in, the aeromotive AFP regulator, that diverted air device in the throttle body, and install a polished lt1 intake that is much smoother than the original. Than do a tune if I can figure out how to hook everything up, may need some computer guru's to do that. I also have a set of bosh IV's that I have and would try again, but need to send back to FIC to have extenders put on to make them fit better. They are a little shorter and I was getting some leakage so only used them about 700 miles as I did not want an engine fire.

See how I get along tonight.

Neighbor checked oil pressure sensor and it was not working, left him a new one to install. Went to DMV and renewed license plates and insurance, installed new sticker so it is now legal to drive. Perhaps Monday night will finish it up and get hood on and than to get it cleaned up for the road!
