So, I've done pretty extensive search and reading of the forum, but I'd like to get some more recent thoughts.
Anyone using headers/cat on their L98? Very curious who's got what and feedback.
I installed a CORSA system on my 1991 convertible L98. Love it, sounds awesome.
Was considering headers and a high-flow cat. Don't want to spend a lot of money, part of what I am wondering is if I can get good headers/cat around $500. I'm not opposed to buying used.
I think that might be a tad on the low side, even used. I would look for SS headers and hi-flow cat.
When I had my prior '88 done (stock headers) 2 1/2" mandrel-bent SS front Y with Random Tech cat it ran >$400.
Good to hear praise of the Corsa as it will be my next system. I'm thinking of the LT1 version so I can run ture duals off the OEM headers with bullet cats.
Check my never used EM long tubes for sale in the parts wanted section. have cats and extensions to bolt to Corsa.
I've had some tire kickers interested. PM me and we'll work out a deal.

Long tube headers are the way to go, they really wake the TPI engines.
Yes ceramic coated are the way to go however you can get some very cheap headers like Hedman.
I have Hedman 68448 Elite headers on my '87 that I got from Summit Racing ($429 right now on their website). I have true duals as the car doesn't have to be smogged. This part number is the one that does not have AIR hookups. Hedman does have a version with AIR connections.
I did the header install myself but there were some minor mods I had to do. I had to make a brace for the rear of the alternator and I installed a mini-starter. The early C4 starter is the large style and it would have been a royal PITA to use it with headers. I also had to build a mount for the dipstick tube. The duals were already on the car so the pipes had to be connected to the header reducers.
There will be no way to use the pre-cats so part of the Y-pipe will have to be retained so the main cat can be left in place.
There's NO WAY I'll every have headers that are not ceramic coated. This is especially true in the Vette as all that radiated heat is murder to the plastic, like in the weatherpak connectors for those crucial electronics. The Thermo-Tec wrap is a distant second, even painted.
