Hi.
I got a problem today as I saw that the courtesy light did not go off. Does anybody know what that can be. I had to take out the fuse so that the battery should not be drained.
I would very much appreciate some comments or solution on this.
Re: Courtesy light is not automatically switched off (JonM)
Its probably a bad pin switch. This is the plunger/button type of switch in the door frame that is responsible for turning the light on and off. They wear out over time. Try replacing the switches.

Hi all.
Thanks for good responses. Of course I should have given the year of the car. It is an 85 z-51.
I think if the lights shuts off when turning the switch on to start then the car the door switches would be also when the lights goes on when opening the doore again.
So if the lights does not switches on when opening the doors, but switches on when using the dash switch then I would believe that it must be the door switch.
I have observed that the time of the delay varies so it might be the delay device. Thanks for giving the drawings of the place where the timing device is placed. What book ist such thigs displayed. I have had difficulties finding relays , connectors and fusing lines.
