Non-corvette Dana 44 gear sets?

Is there anything unique about the Vette Dana 44 gear set? Do others such as Jeep ones fit the carrier?

Just curious

A correct gear set requires the D44HD gear sets. A D44 can be used with sleeves and appropriate bearings BUT the pinion shaft is of less diameter. The D44HD is done in a couple different variations and NOT all can be used but if it's advertised as D44HD with 3/8" hardware it's likely a fit. If you see D44 -Vette/Viper it can be considered a fit with maybe doing some work to use the ring gear as there's 3/8", 7/16" and even 1/2" hardware.

Yes there are Jeep that fit. Not all but there are some.
