I had a radiator hose blow Friday on my 1993 corvette and got it towed back to my house. I can see the hose that busted and need to replace it. My question is looking at parts online there seem to be alot of options. Is there a specific one I need or are radiator hoses kind of general parts for all cars where you find one that fits or cut one to size?
Secondly, since the one blew I assume it is a good idea to replace them all, is this a good assumption? Does anyone have any suggestions on a decent kit with all the hoses in it?
The radiator hose can be bought at any auto parts store. They are shaped specifically for your car. On my 1992 there are 2 upper hoses and one lower hose. There is also the hose going from the upper radiator hose to the thermostat area. It is made for the car. To find the heater hoses, of which there are 3, I believe, will be more difficult.
There are a bunch listed at rockauto.com if you want to go that route. Looks like there are a few variations so you will have to compare your hose to what they have.
Standing toe to toe at your local parts house will usually yield good results. If you happen to get the wrong one, they are right there to get another.
Davies corvette has a complete set available, as I put new ones on when installing engine. I still have new extra hoses from Napa for the 3large upper an lower, but had to get the others that are formed for the right bends from Davies, I think they had the better price at the time. I think it is a 8 or 9 piece kit.
