I just had my trans rebuilt and I am looking at running a synthetic fluid. Any recommendations? I am looking at B&M Trick shift and Mobile One Trans fluid.. Has anybody used any of these or any thing else? :jester :jester
There is also Royal Purple and AMS ATF, one other I cant remember. I would ask the trans experts. I'm using ATF but It was given to me by a friend. I don't think you would go wrong with any of them. But I don't know Jack about trans. :bb
I am using redline syn. type 7176 (chrysler fluid) in my wifes dodge intrepid. I can tell you that I can feel no difference in the shifting etc. But to me, the extra heat protection you get from synthetics is worth it. On my Vette, when I get the trans rebuilt, and new converter installed, I plan on using Mobil. It is the most mass produced, can get it at a lot more places, and is the cheapest. Oh, by the way, the reason for the redline in the dodge is redline is the only co. that makes a syn. type 7176 specific transmission fluid that I could find. Good luck with your decision.
i just put a new royal purple product in my ZF. it's called "synchromax," and is a synthetic answer to GM's synchromesh. it seems to work the same shift feel magic that synchromesh does. gl3-rated.
i make no claims other than it shifts great, and that i'm comfortable that it won't mess up my tranny.
