C4 Stereo installation restoration....
I have an 89 corvette coupe and at some stage back in time the old cassette stereo was replaced with a more modern Sony unit that looked really out of place. I unknowingly bought a reconditioned Delco Bose cd unit from ether a later c4 or a camaro version with the adaptor harness to plug in the original factory plugs. These are available as cd upgrades for early c4's. The problem is the old plugs are gone and all the speakers have been modified to by-pass the amps located at each speaker. As the Delco bose unit doesnt have a built in amp like modern stereos, I am not sure what to do. Does anybody know if there is a after market amp I can install between the head unit and speakers as they are connected at the moment? Otherwise I will have to reverse what has been done previously to hook up the speaker amps and restore the relays where ever they are located. And in doing so I dont know if the original speaker amps are still working?
