Hey forum, there has been an annoying engine squeak/chirp coming what seems to be like near the alternator. The chirp is most noticeable when the car is warmed up and when it is in lower RPMs. When I am cruising down the highway I can't hear it at all. In town however, is a different story. The noise is very audible at stop lights. Do you guys have any idea what could be causing it? Thanks for your help

Just a thought, but my 96 LT1 did the same thing. It was embarrassing. Pull up to a stop light and hear this loud chirping. It sounded like it was coming out of the intake on mine.
Turned out to be a cracked exhaust manifold. It was cracked under the heat shield, so you couldn't see it.
Take off the serpentine belt and run the engine without it -- not for long, though -- your water pump won't be working. That will eliminate all the belt-driven accessories.
You can spin the various accessories by hand to narrow down the problem.
