Can you install longer wheel stubs without removing the hubs? Thanks
Yes you can BUT you do have to modify the head of the stud slightly. It does NOT have any effect on the efficiency of the stud to hub. How long of a stud do you need? There's very inexpensive Dorman, there's of course the higher priced ARP or Strange. There's maybe a GM # I can give you that should give you the "dog-point" on the end.
The image isn't of a GM stud, it's only an image to show you what needs to be done. Many OEM use chamfered studs for exactly the reason you ask.
That will allow you to rotate the hub and replace the stud without removing the hub/bearing.
Thanks its more for looks and a little road racing. Below is my project so with the mini light replica's I thought I would go a little longer. The stock ones are not even 2 inches so if I modify the head can I fit
2 1/2"
This GM stud is 68mm (2.67") with a dog-point 22551491. It's more expensive now than it has been but they should do. A Dorman 610-323 is 2.126 (under head) with no dog-point, I believe a stock C4 stud is something near 1.634 using Dorman specs. I don't have a loose one to measure. I did the GM 22551491 on the rear of my car 11 years ago.
The project looks good, it's moved right along since the last time I checked. Did you land the D44 that was close?

Thanks, I did get the Dana 44 as well as new half shafts and its all together. Can I fit the 2.67 up front and where do I get them? Thanks

Yes, the 22551491 are available at any GM dealer. I would think likely 3-4 days. They're expensive though, something near $6 would be good maybe. There's very little margin in these. I haven't had any in my hands for a few years but when I bought, I had no issues with them. NONE! The dog-point is nice.
there's ARP and Moser also. The ARP 100-7708 is maybe less expensive and they're advertised at 2.5". They could be something near $15 a wheel. They may or may not have the dog-point.
