My 84 w/crossfire has a problem starting after it sits overnight or longer. When it has the problem when I try starting it will give a short squirt of fuel out the injectors then quits(1 to 2 seconds) Sometimes after several tries (10-15) it might start. But I can pour a 1/2 teaspoon of gas in the throttle body and it will start right up. After it starts it will start right up the rest of the day it only does this after it sits for at least 6-8 hours. It has a new fuel pump, filter, rebuilt throttle bodies and holds 12psi fuel pressure. It started this about a week after all the fuel stuff was replaced.
Recheck the fuel pressure, you might have a bad part. FYI crossfire injection should not hold fuel pressure just like the truck tbi units don't. But they do keep fuel in the lines.

12 # doesn't sound right.....my 85 is 38# stock......not sure if 84 has a cold start injector....
The Haynes manual chapter6-8 reads: "Cold Start Module (1984 models only) The cold start module signals the ECM when a given number of hours of engine running time have passed. These hours are about the same as a given number of miles of driving. The purpose of the cold start module is to control emissions for 10 seconds after the engine starts below 175-degrees F, until a certain mileage is reached.
The module has 3 wires-12-volt ignition, ground and a lead to the ECM.Before the preset number of hours is reached, the voltage to the ECM is zero. When the module reaches the required number of hours, it completes the ECM circuit and sends 12- volts to the ECM, blowing the fuse that protects the ECM.
Temp sensor and wires connection to the temp sensor are the very first place I would look at with your description. Take the connector off and look for green or broken wire. Sometimes the wire can be broken and the covering still intact so look close
84s are a forum of tbi injection, GM tbi injection is run on lower pressure, 9-13 psi.
thanks...i've only owned a 85 and have some of down thanks to the forum, but apparently it's nothing like a 84....have to keep my thoughts to myself...
I checked the coolant sensor and the wires were corroded I'm going to clean up the connection and I will try it tomorrow. Unfortunately I started it before I checked the forum so I will have to let it set overnight. I will let you guys know and thanks for the info.
