Ok, I have the plate off and the bulb assembly out. Now I just need to remove the bulb from the harness yet I can't get it out and have already broken the bulb pretty much. Oops. How do I get this done? Both my backup bulbs and my courtesy door lamps are out, but why? I don't know if changing them is going to help but I'm praying it will. I don't think it is a fuse problem b/c in the manual it has them as seperate fuses. HELP ME PLEASE!
The backup bulb should come out of the socket with a slight counterclockwise twist. The bulb is an 1156 bulb, so you can look at a new bulb for comparison.
MidAmerica sells a 50w Halogen replacement if you want more light.
Fuse 28 in the RH fuse block by the passenger door cover the Backup circuit in a M/T. The backup switch itself, on the transmission, can go bad also.
Courtesy lamps are on several other circuits, so don't understand that part. Best start with each circuit, see if it has voltage, and go from there.
