I just replaced the injectors in my 1989 5.7 liter. In putting things back together when I got to the hoses on the passenger front side of the engine I came up short. There are three hose ports. The top one is for the PCV valve and the bottom for coolant, but for the life of me, I cannot figure out what hose goes on the center port. There isn't anything near it and I don't remember taking anything off. I'm inserting a picture of the top two - the bottom one has the coolant hose still attached. Your assistance is greatly appreciated - thank you. blair@blairgilbert.com
There should be a loose line at the canister that would go there. Emissions vacuum hose routing decal/label should likely still be on the car. I doubt you should have trouble finding it. Put your hands on the canister and you should find the hose.
I've never felt more like an idiot. I cannot find a lose hose anywhere. I looked for 30 minutes the other day, went on Google images to look and still come up blank.
with WVZR-1...I just went into my garage and looked on my 89...There is a plastic hose with a rubber connector that goes on that fitting...The hose goes under the air intake tube, across the engine bay to the drivers side wheelwell , then down into the drivers side front hole with about 3 other plastic lines...Then the hose goes rubber again and connects onto the plastic canister...If you don't have the lines there, you should get them because you need them....WW
Thanks a million! I'd inadvertently buried it when putting things back together but having a starting point and route solved the challenge almost immediately.
