Hi all, what are options for a failing power window motor? Seems the GM OEM is still available and the original has lasted since 1991. Looks like Mid America offers an entire regulator with motor. Any thoughts? Also, is it practical to change just the motor? Is it held in place with rivets or bolts? I have not taken the door panel off yet so I'm looking for guidance before I do. Thanks.

If not, pull the sw and remove it from its socket. If the prongs are blackened clean them and problem is likely solved.
When I did the PW in my prior '88 Vette I replaced the entire reg & motor assy. Only thing worse is replacing the speaker assy...
On my '88 IROC-Z I replaced the PW motors only and it was necessary to drill & stake the regulator before drilling out the rivets to keep the spring from unwinding.
Ewe- sounds like fun; I'm pretty sure its not the switch(es) because at any given time the passenger window moves with both the switches or neither of the switches. All or nothing. I sure hope it's not as bad as some of the crap I been going through with my C5 lately.
