Default Paging new92racer

I took some really nice photos of your car yesterday. Also some video was captured as well. It really leaves the line nicely! Sort of squats and then does it's thing! You must have added more fuel, due to the increase of the MPH per every run(or so it seemed). It's an EASY 10 second car once the air cools down. I think Bill C's best with it was an 11.02(122?)? It was really nice to see that car again! Though I'll get killed, maybe when I decide to run mine on the big-littles we can line up? I'll post the pics for you a little later. I think you'll like what you see.

Nice meeting-chatting with you.

Great to meet up with you JD,
You're right, I did up the FP twice after talking with you, then ran out of time due to eliminations. I posted in the drag racing section all the troubles I had that day, so thanks again for the help. Can't wait to see the photos & video, if they're to big just post the photos & email me the video. I'm looking forward to learning more about this rig and since it went 11.26 in the soup Saturday I think 10s are in the near future, just need time to tune & experiment.
Thanks again, Dave

Cool! The previous owner checks in!

Dave, did you see the pics in the northeast gallery? Would you like a videotape of yesterdays tape also? Lemme know.

What was the 60' time ? I think I saw 1 run that you had made, maybe it was a 11.3x ?

Also, is the cam a Lingy 219 ?

Vic

Dave told me He clicked a few 1.4 60's  Bill C also had a few 60's of that range. Not to be a pessimist..but even the D44 won't last long(IMO) at those blasts!

Regarding the camshaft...It started as a 219(When Bill C owned it). The second owner prolly didn't change the cam...so more than likely it's still equipped with that grind. Seems to work eh? ;)

It did an 11.2 twice. :yesnod: 11.27 and 11.24 I think. In that heat...it has 10's written all over it.

Guys,
I had few of runs in the 1.46-48 range, the rest were all mid 1.5Xs and even on the 1.4s it was still spinning! :( Maybe Bill C is right, once it hits 1.4X it's time for more air in the tires! You're right that D-44 isn't going to stand up under a steady diet of those runs, any body got a 9" handy?
What are you guys thoughts about a miniram & more cam?

Dave

I would install the Lingy solid roller Cam. It should make about 20 more HP than the 219 Cam.

It's in his catalog. That car has a great shot at high 10's.

It it's going to be "TRACK ONLY" MR 3.73. more convertor 9" and a solid or mech roller cam(The 236-244 LPE is fantastic). See if you can sneak a 10.99 in AS IS(With better tune of course and good air) then go nutty!

I REALLY like that car :)

Catch you later

Vic & JD,
Funny both of you guys mentioned that cam, I just happen to have the exact one in another engine. I bought this 383 engine for the '89 I was building before the green '90 came along. Since the '90 will most likely be a track only car, I don't think that even the 236/244 will be big enough, I was looking into something in the 255-265 range w/ mid .600s lift. Thought that would kill off enough low end torque and shift it upstairs to help the D-44 live a while longer. I'm not sure if that big pizza box intake will like that much cam. Share some more of your thoughts on the subject,
Thanks, Dave :flag

PS JD, I downloaded the photos, but my PC doesn't do zip files yet, I need to get the software, thanks again. :yesnod:

Dave,

If you like ... I can send the pics individually...that way you can at least see them!

The 236-244 is in a friends Lingenfelter IROC and it is making 640 hp normally aspirated with 18* Heads, custom intake "AND" the 236-244 with Jesel shaft mounted rockers. It is BEYOND nutty...gets 15 to the gallon and drives on the street with VERY nice manners :D. It should be enough for you. I'd bet dollars to doughnuts the 219 cam is still in there. It's a good piece!

I plan on going to the Maryland event. I'll have to reserve a truck-trailer soon. Don't want to break that far from home and not have a way to get it back.

Take it easy!

I don't know the exact details...but I think it's like a mini-corvette challenge. Something to that effect.

[Edit] I should have answered your other question :D, It's in September(Early I think).
