Default Cam Questions

What can I expect out of a cam. Not a profile too drastic. But something to add punch.

Is it worth it? How hard is it? While I have the heads off should I port them?

With all this done should I bolt on headers and high flow cat's?

Or should I just grab a 4.11 rear end and call her done?

Boy the list keeps creeping up there!

I am doing the gears first, getting 4.10's installed next week. Recently I drove a 96 GS with 4.10's and loved them.

Next up after the gears will be heads/cam.

4.10's are high for the LT motor. The highway would kill. Wouldn't the motor rev to high?

6 speed LT1's are only turning 2000 rpm's at 70 mph with the 4.10's.

I think either one will probably get you the results you are looking for but the cam will make it sound meaner! I know a guy who does port jobs pretty cheap in the Denver area, he did mine for about $400. Email me or IM me if you want more details.

With the six speed, I should be doing 2400 RPM @ 80, this is a guess
