Haven't seen any myself but I haven't been lookin'.
Aren't driveshaft loops intended to keep a broken driveshaft from catapulting the car? Maybe this is something we don't have to worry about the halfshafts doing since they're so short. Just a thought.
Might be nice to have loops in there to contain the damage though.
It would be good piece of mind to put the short shaft loops in regardless of e.t. or mph. Those things flying around violently are NOT a good idea if and when they go.
Brian, Sounds good on getting someone in to the quick 4. With a bar and a little giggle juice, I'm sure I could be there. I sure as hell couldn't hang with Keith Brownlee!
Could prolly use two, due to how short they are. If the shaft broke in the center and you had a center mounted loop, it would be useless. Would want to have both ends covered in case of failure. Would have eliminated Vic's fiberglass damage.
Ive never heard or seen one for a C4 and the web page showed one for the C3's but Im sure one could make one for the C4 as well,if there isnt one already.
Also,I wonder where the breakage is most common on these shafts.Imagine installing one and it breaks on the opposite end rendering it useless.Anyhow, every bit of cheap insurance is good.

So far what I've seen is that they break in the middle. Lots of good what does huh? :D Might have to install 2 sets each.
I was thinking the same thing after reading Vics post. I can imagine the damage a set of run a way half shafts could do.
I would also like to look into beefing up the rear end.
Maybe getting something like the C5's rear shafts... C/V joints are suppose to be stronger right? Are they breaking anything on the C5's other then the upper a arms?
I also wonder what kind of a loan would one have to take out to have billet half shafts made...
After looking at Vic's pics. The Aluminum half shafts look pansy. Are the carbon fiber shafts much stronger in drag racing?
