Re: LT4...best plugs to use (AVTekk)
Just a warning about the Bosch +4s.
My son put them in his 1993 Probe and the engine missed and would not rev over 4000 rpm. Ended up putting in the stock $2 plugs. A mechanic said do not use the +4s in the Probes as the engines don't run right with them.
I know a Probe is not a Corvette, but do your homework on whatever plugs you decide to buy.
In my LT4, I put in the stock AC Delco with the platium tip plugs. Some people say the platium tips fall off, but they seem to run fine in my engine. I don't see any reason to experiment with different spark plugs.
no no, didnt say +4s, just bosch platinum..i know better than to use those +4 pieces of garbage..i dont even know what engines they do run in, cuz everyone i talked to say they suck...
Sorry I don't have the part number. Mine is an L98 which I'm pretty sure takes different plugs then yours. I know NGK is carried by NAPA, so you might be able to call them and get the number.
the bosch plugs are fine & hold up great to resisting fouling. any plug misfires if you drop it on concrete, honestly this is the first i've heard of the +4 misfiring. there's really not a whole lot of ways to make a spark plug guys, the good ones all run pretty similar.
