Found something nifty today....
I was driving down the road, when I heard the key-in-ignition-door-open-bong.
obviously, that was impossible... then, looking at my dash, I noticed the left turn signal was still on! turned it off, and the bong stopped!!!!
perhaps I need to read the owners manual again!! :)

I think that "reminder" started being added in 92 (noticed yours is one). I've driven for miles with the turn signal on. Didn't hear it ticking over the exhaust/radio ;)
