I bought some front and rear HPS pads from Vette Brakes & Products and installed the fronts yesterday and rears today. Once you get the front wheels off, pad swapping took about 7 minutes per side. I should also mention this is my first ever self performed pad replacement. The rears took a little more time due to having to remove the E brake spring on each side to give access to the top 15mm bolt. The left rear pads went in fine but the outside pad on the right rear gave me fits. The metal silencer plate that clips on the outside of the pad would not stay on when I went to rotate the caliper back over the new pads. The friction of the caliper rubbing against the plate made it bend the prongs and cause it to fall off. I finally said the hell with it and took to plate off and put the provided brake pad grease on the back of the pad and put it all back together. I then did the bed in procedure. I did 4 moderate stops from 30-0 and then 3 heavy stops from 45-0. The brakes were feeling better than the stock pads but not great. The last step is to let them cool for 10-15 minutes. After my last 45-0 stop I made a right turn on to a long country road that I new I could drive for 10 minutes without touching the brakes. After 10 minutes of letting them cool I did a moderate stop from 30-0. WOW!!! Worth every penny! The car stops on a dime now and if I brake fairly hard will get into the ABS. These pads will be perfect for my weekend driving and occasional autox. They are night and day better than stock pads!

The HPS are very nice street pads and I have used them at autox's if I run my mostly stock 96. It is good to bed them like you did to get the best performance.

I'm so pumped about how well these pads work. I've got Bilstein Sport shocks showing up this week to replace the crappy KYB's that one of the previous owners put on the car. I can't wait to feel the difference from those!
