I have a sweet 1993 Vette that I can appreciate the mildness of its demeanor. But I want to open her up and that's where I'm at. About all post say X pipe. I am keeping stock mufflers dumping the resonator and replacing pipes. No X this is where I am floored by all the post about an X pipe. Guys it's not an European sports car it's a Bad *** Vette. Just aggravated about what you read. Do you listen to the radio in mono or stereo ? Think about it. Bad *** USA!

Different strokes for different folks. I've had both...prefer the X.
Captaintim: if you want to "open it up" then remove the resonator, replace with X pipe and replace muffers with straight pipe (muffler eliminators). And no you will not hear the radio in first, possibly second gear (if manual), when right pedal is pressed down alot.
Otherwise radio and conservations are fine....well....1st gear is a challenge especially with windows closed.

I'm thinking. Do you really think that you're hearing stereophonic V8 sound though the rear of the car, the close hatch glass etc?? No, you're not. Adding an X pipe won't hurt the audio experience provided by the V8 in that car.
Now if we were talking about a V8 Jeep w/side pipes, or a Cobra, or C2/C3 side piped 'Vette, then yes, an x pipe would markedly change the audio experience. But we're talking about a car that has pipes out the back, about 4' apart, and you're enclosed inside that car. You're not getting any stereo V8 sound.

Look I had an X pipe on my car, could not tell any difference, it was just Fnnn loud
First and foremost let me apologize for coming off in my original post too strong expressing my opinion. I was really looking for some creative criticism. I did remove the resonator with 3" pipes . I think it's actually quieter now on the road with ever so shuttle chop from the back. I'm thinking about replacing or deleting stock mufflers now. My better half says leave it alone. But life goes on! Will see how that works out for me.
