84 4+3 noisy reverse

84 4+3 noisy reverse
My 84 has the 4+3 transmission it works fine except when its in reverse. Reverse is very noisy it sounds like the '' whine '' that some smaller cars with manual trans makes except 20 times louder. Its loud enough that people near by will turn and look. 1st thru 4th are fine no noise at all. I changed the oil and the magnet was fairly clean. I bought the car this way so I don't know if it started suddenly or slowly. I need to know if there might be a in car repair or do I need to pull it and any info on manuals for these trannys would be great.

It's highly possible the OD was apart there is silicone on the mating surfaces. I will get it back on the lift as soon as I get the wife's car off of it. (She wrecked her daily driver and she thinks it's more important than my toy, go figure) Does anyone know where I can find a parts breakdown for the four speed and OD. I haven't been able to find much on the web.
