Headlight control module bad?

If your HCM was bad would it affect both sides and would a light go up and run too long and not come down?

I feel it would cause both to not operate correctly. Sounds like bushings are shot to me.

This is a brand new motor I just put in and it only opens but continues to run on for a while after head light is up.

if the motor is still spinning to me it is the motor or the connection between the motor and the housing its self. if it is spinning there is no resistance there for the module to pick up and turn the motor off. now if it will not close my quess is the motor or linkage is in a bind and thus cutting the motor off
