Need info on AC part please

Default Need info on AC part please

Hi guys,

My name is Darren and I'm from Brisbane, Australia. Recently bought a nice 84.

Am working on getting the AC working and discovered this part broken off the back of the AC hose. Sorry about the quality of the photo. The switch is still whole, with the broken part still lodged inside the thread of the switch.

I can see that you can buy both they hose assembly and/or the switch, but I don't know what the switch screws/bolts on to. I guess what I'm trying to work out is what does the switch screw on to? Is it a part of the AC compressor or the AC hose assembly.

Not sure if i've explained myself properly, but if you get what I mean, I'd be grateful or any help or photos.

The switch is a female thread that threads on a male nipple that's part of the hose. Here's an eBay link to an '84 hose that you can use the ZOOM function on to see it very clearly:
