Hi my friends , Teddy here. I got my optispark fixed and went for a ride and after 40 miles it started to cut off and on like it was running out of fule. It finely stoped and it would not start, had to call tow truck. It is home now and will not start but it will backfire after cranking a few seconds, but will not start. The only codes I get is 12 and H-64. would the 02 senser keep the car from starting after it sits for some time?
Any ideas will be most helpful.

This is a 1994 Corvette P series motor 5.7 350 with 76k on it in excillent condition.

First go back and recheck everything you did, make sure all the plugs are seated properly.

 

Has the fuel filter been replaced and/or fuel pressure been checked?

 

If it was running when the opti was replaced, I definitely would recheck the work first. Anything is possible but I would concentrate there.

 

I did the optispark before and I know that things do go wrong no matter how good you do it. I tested all the opti parts and have the new square seal. I am very sure that it was done right. I get a fast spark reading at the coil and regular spark at the plug wires. It back fires some times, whitch sounds like some sort of timming or spark cotrol of some kind. I am 64 and have cancer and I have had my hip replaced not so long ago so I am very depressed about not having the only pleasure I have . Driving my Vette. I have no one to help me in any way so I have turned to my friends at Vette fourm. I thank you all for any and all help you can give me.

It had stoped running last year that is why I fixed the opti. It ran perfect after that until I took that short ride. When it stoped I pushed it a quater mile by myself , until it was up hill. I am in great pain from this in my hip. Maybe it is time to die. No friends , family, money or ideas left. Again, I thank you all.
