1993 with Bad CDM HELP!!!!
ok found out the hard way if you park your convertible in the rain a common issue is weather strip leaks and fill the area where the CDM for the bose system is. With that said can you add an aftermarket head unit and still power the bose amps and speakers with a bad CDM?

nope... the CDM is what drives the speakers. It's the preamp, and it needs a converted signal to drive it, IIRC... Personally, I hate adapters, they only generate noise.
Do yourself a favour and send the CDM to Dr Dons for a quick fix up or, gut the entire audio system for aftermarket.
I had half-assing these things... but that's personal.
