94 MAF Orientation, is it important?

94 MAF Orientation, is it important?
I've got a Meziere pump and the electronics box below the MAF is only about .010-.015" from it.
Will rotating the MAF 90 degrees cause any problems?
I thought about putting some padding between the two, but I'd rather avoid contact alltogether.

I don't think you can rotate it. I think the air ducting and MAF have grooves that fit together at the top. Any other orientation and the parts won't fit right.
