VATS and PKE
I just bought the transmitter for the PKE. Programing was easy. It will unlock the door by pushing the button. It will not lock or unlock the doors by walking away. Am I right in assuming the VATS has been diabled (hopefuly by a resister)?
If so, where is the VATS module located? I do not have the manual yet. Just purchased the care 2 days ago.

Which door does it unlock when you push the door button?
If it unlocks only the passenger door then you will have to select door opening sequence.
Put key in ignition, donot turn on, hold down door button on the fob until door locks cycle, takes about 3 or 4 secs.
This way you can select which doors open when you approach the car.......

Opens onlyy the drivers door. Can I continue to hold it down a cycle it throug huntil it opens both doors?
Just walking up to the car doesn't unlock any doors. I have to push the button.

If it is programmed as you say then hold down the door button on the FOB until you hear the locks Cycle. This will mean holding the button for 4 or 5 secs. This will activate the system. No key in ignition is necessary for this step. You can verify the system operating by putting the key in the ignition, turning it on...then the Passive keyless shud light up in the lower left of the DIC or walking away & seeing if the doors lock & horns sound.
As far as programming the locks, previous post, just hold the button down until you get the door opening as you like. If you watch the door locks you can tell who is opening & when. :cheers:

Yes. I followed the instructions and activated the PKE. I will try holdiong the button longer to program the button. If I can only get the doors to unlock when I approach.

PKE started working last night. I don't know why people don't like it. Don't leave your keys in your car and you can't be accidently locked out. I do like not having to remember to lock the doors though.
