I am diagnosing a FX-3 system on a 90 vette... It says in the GM manual to ground A to C in the ALDL connector... I am not getting any codes... The "service system light" is on all the time... I would rather get the code and know where to start looking rather than has an assistant turn the key on and off while I watch the acuator turn... the fronts would be easy... but the rears will take more effort...
Which 2 do I use to check this system ? I have a 90 ZR-1 also... it worked when I went A to ? a year ago... my brain must be fading...

I'm interested in how to do this too. Can It be done on a 92, I was just going to take it to a mechanic and have him plug in a scan tool, but would rather just do things myself.
There is a posting somewhere on this site I think, of the terminals to hook up. I think you are correct with the terminals for the 90-91. I believe this check can also be done on the later cars as well. The light should flash, followed by a sequence of codes. BTW I had someone turn the key on and off, and all my actuators self tested and worked, but I still had the light on. Turns out, two of the stops on my shocks, were bad, so I had to replace the shocks, now it works great
To obtain codes, ground terminal C on the ALDL (Assembly Line Diagnostic Link). The ALDL can be found under the driver side dash.
The Service Ride Control light will blink. Each digit is read by counting the number of flashes. Each code is two digits and each digit will have a one second gap between them. Each code will repeat 3 times.
More than one code may be displayed. Each code sequence will start with a code 12. Code 12 is just a start of sequence indicator.
Code Definitions
12 = Start of sequence
13 = Left rear time out
14 = Right Front time out
21 = Left Front time out
22 = Right Rear time out
31 = Left Front out of position
32 = Right Front out of position
33 = Left Rear out of position
34 = Right Rear out of position
Out of position codes are triggered if the computer senses that the actuator has not found the end stop position on the shock. Remove actuator at the indicated shock. Turn the valve gear on the shock stops after about 3 / 4 of turn, then you have a bad actuator. If it spins around continuously then it is a bad shock
41 = Selective ride control switch short to voltage
42 = Selective ride control switch open contacts
You can have a code 42 if you leave the switch in between indented positions
