Random Whine from the 95.
Ok here is the situation I have been hearing from the car that the mechanic can not hear.
From time to time I hear a whine coming from the driver side near the center heading back to the read end. It is the loudest when in reverse and you give it a little gas to go back. From there I notice it when coasting to a stop and barely tapping the brakes. also from time to time when starting out when the engine is cold, soon as it shifts it stops and I never hear it again when moving forward.
If the sound does start when coasting to a stop if I hit the brakes hard it stops and I will not hear the sound again for the duration of my trip.
My car is an auto, 95, 3.07 gears, & 29,500 miles.
I hope this makes sense to everyone.
Thanks

..... Check the gear lube level in the diff ... and while you're under there ... check for fore and aft movement in the driveshaft/pinion yoke ... sounds to me like slightly loose pinion bearings ... or a possible wheel bearing on the way out ..........
