Just bought 92 Vette with 92K miles. "ASR ACTIVE" light began to come on & stays on except when I corner to the right. Changed the rear axle oil & limited slip oil. Fixed the chatter in the rear but light stays on. Has anybody had this problem??
Hope you enjoy your 92. For proper troubleshooting on this system, I recommend you buy the factory service manual with the electrical supplement. If you buy this manaul and feel it is not worth the money, I will buy it from you. Never bought one that way yet. Parts of the manual will explain how systems work and what the trouble shooting procedure is looking for. Also, there is a location chapter for all connections and electrical components. Extremely valuable. You can spend a lot of time looking in the wrong place. Trust me, buy the factory manual, ebay or whatever. The Chiltons and Haynes are also helpful with some test procedures. You will also need some form of a scanner to pull codes. The 92 is On Board Diagnostics I (OBDI) and the scanners/ code pullers are very reasonable. You can also use a paper clip or make a little jumper wire for pulling codes.
You can perform and visual inspection of the wheel speed sensors and check their resistance. Not much to these little critters.
