I'm considering changing the hyd roller cam in my 383 from the Lingenfelter 219 to something else. Please post what you're running and comment on its performance.
Thanks,
Will
Sorry to invade the C4 forum with a q from my C3, but my power plant is basically a modified C4/ L98 so I'm lookin for help with you guys.
I'm running a comp xtreme 276/281 deg at 112 deg sep (catalog) cam. It has a little lobe. What will really determine what a new cam will do, you'll have to consider the "system" CFM flow.
I like the 219. it is a tried and true piece that works well, idles nicely and has a smooth flat powerband. I've run a 12.1@117 on street tires in my 383...and an 11.84-117 on drag radials spinning a bit. Cool fall air will net a new best I am thinking on slicks and skinnies.
There are a few 350 cars with afrs and the 219-sr clicking comfy 11 sec e.t.s so that cam can't be that bad. It also MUST be tuned correctly for maximum power.
