I sent mine to Ken Anderson at K&B Special Products in Georgia two years ago after trying for several years to fix a similar intermittant problem myself. They repaired it and upgraded the power supply for $240. Has been 100% since.

If the dash is nice and bright in day light but dark at night with headlights on check the light dimming rheostat on the headlight switch. With the headlights on this controls the brightness of the display.

Hi
The same thing happened to me during easter, the dash went blank and indicator lights on and high beam warning light would come on without the headlights on.
Lucky i ordered some parts from Batee last year and had not got around to replacing the board connector.
I checked the ground wires and bypassed them turned out to be the connector had bad connections, replaced it and problem solved works great again. (that is the only problem with my 85 dash apart from a blown backlight globe a year ago) Not bad i think, however i jinxed myself when i said that my dash has never had any problems on the forum.
Either that or driving my vette off road
Was a pretty simple repair though.
