How to clear codes '88 c-4?

Hi,
I have a code 12 and a code 61 in my '88 corvette. I would like to clear the codes to see what redevelops. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks to all replies!

Unhook the negative battery cable for 10 sec. or a better option is get a code reader you can get one for around $30 at an auto parts store. Once the battery is unhooked everything is reset and it takes about 30 miles to relearn.

NCM Sinkhole Donor

A Code 12 simply indicates the start and stop of the code list. Even if you clear all other codes, the Code 12 will show up.

Thanks, does this mean the SES light is on always?

No. If there are no trouble codes present, the SES light should be off.

I have a code 61. As best I can find out a code 61 shows on later year corvettes. (got 6 flashes,pause,one flash; 61)??

Code 12: No distributor reference.

No signal from the distributor (usually because it's not turning).

Error code 61 is not on this list, so that is a mystery:

You can clear the error codes by opening the ECM power connector for a second or so:
