Default intercooler fitment suggestions

Just replaced my radiator with a Dewitts and late model AC condensor as required for install.

Now that it is all back together thinking of a Pro charger this season or next.

First will move my current cone air cleaner (4 inch x 4 inch by 5 inch) to the area where CC canister resides. Do you think there is room next to C/C canister to drill a 3.0 inch hole in front of shroud , add a 3 inch tubing support(spectre) and add a universal intercooler off e bay in front of radiator? In/out to intercooler would be on CC canister side routing up to Procharger head. I would add 2 (.5) x (.5) inch x 32 inch alum tubes above and below intercooler to support. Is the a spot on the side of radiator support to affix that tubing? Drill and tap without damaging the new installs? I do not care to remove the radiator/condensor to weld.

I would likely run a cold air kit temporarily until I can pop for new head unit/bracketry.,

Car in barn now so no access till April.

Hi

I had a large intercooler in front of the a/c condenser and radiator, you may need to fabricate a new air duct panel. (The procharger intercooler may fit without this modification) not a generic air to air intercooler, I recommend you consider a water / methanol injection kit and go straight from the blower to the inlet manifold.

I have recently removed the intercooler and gone to a methanol injection setup, i no longer have the problem of not being able to run the a/c in summer.

Running the intercooler piping to the front was not that difficult, i got a kit off ebay with various straight 45 degree and 90 degree bend pipe.
I used 2.5 inch from the blower to the front, 2.5" to 3" 90 degree intercooler hose to the intercooler then 3'' out from the intercooler to the inlet manifold.

I originally ran the mass airflow sensor after the intercooler, however i needed to go via the air filter without the intercooler due to the charge temperatures.

Below are some pictures of how the intercooler piping was run, 45 degree from blower to 2.5'' pipe that has a 45 degree bend and a 90 degree bend to the right of the radiator. (the plastic tab can be removed to run a pipe beside the radiator overflow bottle), then the 90 degree 2.5'' to 3'' hose to intercooler that has 3'' inlet outlet.
on the other side at the drivers side a 3'' to 3'' 90 degree hose to 3 inch pipe with a 3'' 90 pipe degree bend, then a 45 degree 3'' hose with a 6 inch section of 3'' pipe. Another 3'' 90 degree hose and another 6 inch section of 3'' pipe and 2 x 3'' 90 degree elbows and a 3'' to 4'' adapter hose to inlet manifold.

Some pics below, note to comply with regulations here in Australia the standard air filter needs to be used.
