Hi guys,

I'm looking for some advice for my 1987 callaway with Aerobody.

Can anyone advise the correct serpentine belt length?
Seems as though the one I have may be too long causing the oil pump with tensioner to foul.
Here is a pic of what I have:

The car will also overheat VERY easily, particularly at high speed with A/C on, even when the ambient temperature isn't too high.

I had a look under the front Aerobody nose and there seems to be a piece designed to deflect air up into the radiator.
This piece looks like it's been scraped on something (probably speed bump) and has "folded back" and now doesn't deflect any air as it was probably intended to do.

Can anyone confirm this is a part of the aerobody kit and have a pic of an undamaged one looks like?

I think this should be at about 45 degrees not rolled over?

Obviously been hit due to low ground clearance

Check the belt tensioner. It may be worn out and needs replacing. Your air dam looks fine. Does the Calloway have side air dams? My 87 does, but it's a standard model.

the belt is 88.8" already... I would consider if you feel it is too long, get one about an inch shorter. The last digits reflect length in inches. The first digit 06, refer to the number of grooves.

Just so its on this forum as well...

The b2k takes a special length belt that is not available OTC at your local parts store. It has to be ordered from Callaway Cars.

I think the longer belt could be slipping the water pump causing the over heating issues. Fix it first...

GM put out a retrofit kit to prevent the center air dam from being bent back like yours is. There was a brace added in the center. It should look like this:
