88 l98 stock vette, the check engine or service engine light does not come on when I turn the key to on position, the only lights that come on are the low coolant, door ajar, and battery, when it starts they all go off, should there be more lights that come on so you can tell they are working, is the cel or sel on a fuse or relay, I could not find one in the fuse panel, thanks, 98,500 miles

Check your Owner's Manual for those lights that illuminate when you turn on the ignition.

On my '86 the SES light is powered by the INJ1 fuse. The ECM turns it on and the wire goes directly between the two with no other connections.

You probably have a bad bulb. Check for that first and then look at the wiring between the ECM and the SES lamp.
