Have you checked the codes? Voltage going to the coil? The ICM, ignition coil module? Does the ICM have dielectric grease under it and does it have a good ground? What kind/brand of coils are you using? Do you have a fsm to trouble shoot wiring?
check the plugs thst go into the coil On my 95 the metal connectors go bad inside the plastic try first jiggling the wires sometimes the connection is fragile if thats the problem you can get plugs from salvage yard of 92 to 96 chevy pivck ups off their distributors
I wanted to post an update to my issues I had been having with my 94 LT1. I had essentially two issues: failure to consistently start (crank but no start) and then stalling after 20 minutes or so of run time.
I traced the crank but no start to a problem with the wiring harness. The opti test connector was bad. I replaced the harness connector and that cured the start issue. But then it stalled on the road after only a few test drives. Checked the codes and I had a code 16. I cleared the code, ran it for 20 minutes where it died again. Code 16 was back.
I replaced the opti back at the end of June and now have 900 miles of trouble-free operation.
Thanks for the suggestion to check the harness. I found that one by shaking the harness. I barely moved the opti test connector and the engine died.
The sad thing about the opti is I had MSD overhaul the unit last year. I guess I had maybe 5 to 10 hours of run time before it died. I have an expensive paper weight now.
So with the engine running good, I can now tackle the other things on my list.
code 16 is ? and,
MSD Opti's get a lot of negative publicity; what make Opti did you end up using?

I had bought 2 MSD optis and installed one on my LT4 gave me fits car would idle rough and go dead , so I contacted MSD in El Paso and they told me they had a bad run on some so I sent them back and they fixed what the problem was and reinstalled and it runs great, so if you don't want that paperweight let me know and I will give you my address and you can send it to me.
