I was wondering if my car is
1. Compatable with Autotap
2. OBDII complient.
I know in 95 they changed the chip to be on board, and not removeable. I assumed that was because they changed to OBDII. BUT, i was looking in the Mid america catologe last night just for kicks, and it said autotap was for OBD Cars 96+ only.

Re: Is 1995 OBDII? (Mervz)
Mervz,
Well, not exactly. Most of the 95 vettes had OBD1 systems with OBD2 ALDL connectors. However, some late 95s had both OBD2 connectors and onboard system. It is my understanding that OBD2 was mandated by Uncle Sam for 96, but it wasn't illegal to be ahead of the deadline, so GM started phasing in OBD2 on some of the later 95s. The emmissions control sticker (usually on the radiator left side) is the final authority. Pop the hood and remove all doubt.
