Air Pump
Since I'm an old gearhead ,I'm learning on my LT1. I do most of the work myself, but have a silly question. What does the air pump do and where is the bottom hose connected to,thanks Jim

On the L98s the AIR pump output went to a diverter valve controlled by the ECM.
One output went to the exhaust manifold to heat the O2 sensor(s) during warm up, another went to the cat to assist exhaust cleanup and another was a dump to the atmosphere.
You will likely find that hose serves one of these.
