looks like the list on my 85 - only difference is I've been working on it for almost 20 years, and STILL NOT DONE! problem is, after you finish the last item, it's time to start over.

You are 100% right here! When ever I do something like this I always replace what I had to take off (with in reason) Murphy laws works here.
Isn't it amazing how projects grow?
I have a 2 car garage, one side the C4 corvette the other side I am restoring a 1962 VW BUG. Wife has not complained yet!
I took a stab at rebuilding the ant that would not go up and down. It is very easy. According to the instructions it states "reach up and loosen the black **** and ant will drop out". If you have long skinny arms that works.
I removed the left tail light only 2 nuts, and it was right in in front of me. I also found the piece loose that the Black **** srews to. If I had to do it again I would do it the same way!

I have bushings to replace. The car squeaks like an old pickup truck when I bounce over a bump.
I would complain about the VW in the garage (even though I have a Passat GLX), but then again, I worked on them as a kid for five years to put my wife through college. Then she ran off with one of her professors. But that's another story. Maybe it's why I don't like VWs any more.

The VW is frame up restore. I has all the typical rust problems. If anyone here has done a restore they know what I am talking about.
Buy one of the kits from Corvette America it has all the bushings you need. No special tools needed except for a press for the front bushing replacement. I bought one from Harbor freight for only $129 on sale. I had to pick it up because the shipping was more than the price of the press. Its cheep but I don't do this for a living and it will do the job
One of my wishes is a lift. I guess I should be happy with what I got.
Worked on the C4 today removed all parts on the drivers side front end. The bushings, ball joints and tie rod ends need replacing.
I noticed 2 other issues
Cracked rubber on the drivers side spring retainer
Leaking rack and pinion, cracked boot with PWR steering fluid dripping.
LOOKs like replacement time. I am happy that I have all apart and will have to take of some lines and 3 bolts to remove it.
As I said earlier it grows and grows
Today is Sunday I sneaked a couple of hours in the garage this morning.
I have removed all front end parts including the panels between the wheel wells and engine Bay( 3 on each side). I need to do a cleaning of over spray and dirt. I am real lucky this C4 came from Cal and there is no rust or grease build up. I should put some pic's up.
I removed the upper A frame got both bolts loose with no issues. The front bolt hits the serpentine belt tensioner. I cant get it back far enough to remove the A Frame. Has anyone seen this issue? I am sure the fix is to remove the tensioner

Only a short list for me. Detached not heated garage in Indiana kind of determines what I can and can not do during certain days in the winter!
92-
Replace headlight gears for bronze ones (done yesterday actually)
Optispark (pending a couple nice days)
Repair air bladders in both seats (pending)
replace broken gear under Passenger Sport so it moves forward and back again (pending)
88-
Replace Atari Dash lights with LEDs (pending)
Clean Contacts for Electronic Climate Control/Troubleshoot (Pending)
New Tires (Pending Spring)
Bleed brakes, and check front calipers (pending)
I spent fall/early winter breaking my car down for paint. Last weekend the car got picked up and now I have lots of hardware and parts to clean up/paint.
• 3.07 pumpkin to change a pinion seal on
• finish cleaning body moldings
• couple interior parts that need repair
• order hood emblem, hatch struts and weatherstripping
• if it gets back before spring I have stainless brake hoses to put on.
• think thats it...

For the weather stripping I used Corvette Rubber, search for them they are a little higher but it is worth the extra $
ah yes. those faded moldings. When I had my C$ painted the body shop said they were dry rotted and unusable. I checked to see if there was a whole car kit. When I found what the cost was I fell out of my chair. I told the body shop to leave then off.
I tried everything to clean them. I used a product called "Back to Black, its like a cream solution. I put a few coats on and they look like new (almost)

NICE! What do you recommend to clean the inner fenders and all the plastic?

I am working on the fenderwells of my 84 also. So far research and elbow grease got me to this conclusion. A bucket of hot water n a scrub brush for cleaning the plastic wheel wells and then a red scotchbrite pad to scuff them up. I'm using the VHT line of paints and they have an adhesion promoter(pretty much a primer) and then using their bumper n trim paint as it has flex agents built into it.
