Default LT4 Radiator Hose Life

I changed my thermostat & did a throttle body by-pass today. I have not put the new coolant in yet. I noticed how soft both radiator hoses are. The car has about 27K miles & these are the original hoses.

Should I change these hoses???

I had not planned on it but they feel quite soft to me & I am wondering if this soft feel is normal. I quess I am still old school & was suprised to find that the suction side hose was not reinforced.

Help as I want to finish this job tomorrow.

So are you guys with 96's or so still running the original factory hoses or have you changed them out. If you have changed them out what did you use???

They are soft from the start. I still have mine on. I don't think you need to change them right now.

Mine has 29,000 on it along with the original hoses. I did the tb-bypass and 160* therm. recently too and have left the stock hoses in. I don't know what condition yours are in, but I doubt you need to change them.

original hoses @~75k.....
I noticed the top supply hose is a little 'bulgy' around the clamp. That is getting changed as it can signify weakness.

Mine are still original but if I had them off I would go ahead and replace.

As far as I know ours "were" original with 145k. They are being replaced with the rebuild. :yesnod:

The softness was quite uniform over the length & both hoses were the same. So I quess they are ok for the time being?

They are indeed cheap from Jeff Kopp...14 for one and 8 bucks for the other-OEM too.

I replaced mine when I replaced my original radiator that sprung a leak :( I took the oppertunity to use stainless boat hose clamps while I was at it. Those factory hose clamps aren't the best. I only had 22K miles when the radiator died.
