Default When will they go boom!

Just want to find out the max horsepower and torque spects for the 700r4 and the dana 36. Thanks a bunch!

not that much... I have heard that 383's can make sushi outta 700R4's... the D36 will fair better....

but if your out for real power, there is a lot of people here who recommend the THD400's or a 6spd conversion... and a D44...

I think the 700R4 is only rated something like 350lb-ft of torque, if i'm wrong then it isnt over 400lb-ft. Torque is what tears them up, not the hp.

A D36 should take the 400+ torque for a little while but dont try to do a burnout, or ever put Drag slicks on the rear.

ya might wish to do a little looking around at some of the performance Trans sites, The 700R4's ( stock ) wont handle torque much beyound 350 or so , and per some of the sites the Th350 and Th400 do not fair much better, a few of them simply recommend hardened performance parts for the 700R4 ( most recommend this route over the TH400 )
