l83 engine - what intake manifold? (no crossfire stuff)

Default l83 engine - what intake manifold? (no crossfire stuff)

My question is simple, now i have this engine out of 84 corvette, it has a intake and a carb off a 305sbc, but i want somthing nice, so what performance intake manifolds should i put on that engine?

Goals? Criteria? Budget?

EFI? Keep it carb?

Keep it carb, it has a quatrajet carb now, golas, later on i will put new camshaft and new heads.

Maybe i will leave this intake alone, and when i take the motor out of the car and put some top end kit on it the intake will come with.

but i need to order a water pump so i thougt i might get some aluminum intake with, somthing better then the 305 crap

I have an 85 350 that I put a Weiand intake on.Name is four + 4 or something similar.Bolts right on.Car came w/out all of efi so I converted it to carb.Used a new- rebuilt 600cfm Edlebrock carb.Only prob may have to put a scoop in the hood for carb.

Thanks for the answer!.

I think ill put new intake along with heads and a cam when i have the money and time, so that damn engine will finally do its job

Nearly any Gen 1 intake will work, but Tom asks the right questions.. again.

I put an Edelbrock intake and 650 carb on an L83 (in another vehicle), built for torque at the low end; now a 383.
