Got the dreaded "Service Engine Soon" light last night on my 92 LT-1 Coupe. I pulled the codes and came up with Code 32:Check EGR System.
What are the typical culprits? A leaking vacuum line? Dirty Solenoid? Dirty EGR valve?
The Vette's going to the shop next week for a leaking oil pan gasket, but I'd appreciate a Forum reality check for possible options before I consult with the technician. :chevy
Re: Code 32 on the ECM: Need Repair Advice (onedef92)
I had it come up on my 92 after installing headers. I replaced both the EGR valve and its'solenoid (knock on wood here)...I haven't had a problem since.

I have the same code on my 93. The shop manual (I know you have one) has a detailed procedure on testing the valve and also the passages inside the intake manifold for blockages. I checked my valve and it is okay. The local parts store has to order the valve or relay that turns it on. For now I just ignore the light. I seem to get it only when driving at 70+ for an extended period of time. The next time I start the car I don't get the light. I only set it every 4-5 months. A new EGR valve is about $55 and the selnoid is $20.

You described the symptomology to a T, Carroll B. Mine does the same thing. The car is going to the shop next week, though, and I figured I'd have them check the system while they had her in there....

[QUOTE I seem to get it only when driving at 70+ for an extended period of time. The next time I start the car I don't get the light. [/QUOTE]Thats exactly what mine did. It was the EGR temp sensor.
