Has anyone done one of these.. I am converting an LT1 to an LT4 with a LT4 hot cam... I am runing into some issues and have some questions...
I have already installed the cam and the LT4 heads and having an issue with the 1.6 RR. When I turn the cam the exaust valves do not close all the way. My mechanic spoke to a performance shop out of MI and they told him to use my LT1 studs.. I don't know about this.. Now we are having an issue mounting the 1.6 RR. I have the ones that came with the kit but we are getting the Crane Gold RR... What do you think... I don't really know... HELP!!!!!!!!!!!! :( :( :(
I am going to take a guess at this but I feel sure that there will be many more qualified people on here to chime in. The LT4 head has a 10mm stud and the rockers are not adjustable. The aftermarket rockers, or the ones that come with the hot cam kit are 3/8 and are adjustable. I believe you just need to change your studs and use the adjustable rockers that come with the cam kit. But before taking my word on this get a second opinion
Not to sure, but thaty sounds correct. But can't believe you have not found the answer after doing a search on here. Have you done a search yet?
Search on key words like LT4, LT4 cam, etc..
You can get a plastic guage at any speed shop that goes on in place of the rocker arm, and lets you see if the push-rod is the right length. They only cost a couple of dollars. Then you'll at least know if the push rods are the right length for your setup.
