I am contimplating trying to put a built 4l80 in my 92. There are a couple obstacles I will have to overcome. The first being able to control it electronically. They sell stand alone computers for about 800 bucks. The next thing I'm concerned about is overall length and my driveshaft. is the 4l80 the same length as a zf6? Also what would I do to make the c-beam work with it?
Any particular reason you want a 4L80? The auto trans used in the '92 can be built up to handle lots of power and you won't have to worry about how to get the 4L80 into the car and control it.
The link shows that there would be a whole lot of modifications needed to make it work. Certainly looks doable but IMHO, the question would be the time and money involved and making sure that the mods are done right.

has any of u guys tried this? Have any input?
If they are still available, there was a kit made with the proper output shaft for the 4l80 and a C beam adapter. I believe it was for an automatic C beam though. If you went with a full manual valve body, the controller wouldn"t be needed. Save some dough.
Will do. Thanks a ton. That will help alot. All I would need is a automatic c Beam and driveshaft and either a manual valve body and/or a stand alone shifter
