I know this has been beaten to death so I will be breif. Can someone steer me in the right direction as to how to remove my fuel sending unit? I have search for about 1.5hrs and cant find the step by step instructions.TIA Kevin
The fuel pump/fuel gauge sending unit are one piece. Well kinda, you can just swap out fuel pump alone from the sending unit. The fuel sending unit is where you put gas in at the back of the car. Basically, you remove the fuel access door, spill tray, remove your send and return lines from the sending unit, unplug the electric connector, then remove the bolts that bolt the sending unit to the fuel tank. It is not a difficult job. Actually pretty easy on the C4. After a couple times, you can remove the sending unit in about 15minutes.

Iam confused, So you are telling me I dont have to access it from the floor of the trunk/rear hatch area? I want to clean up the sender because the fuel gauge is reading empty.
Open the gas lid door and remove the torx head (4) t-10 screws from each corner.
Once the door lid compartment is removed it's pretty easy to access.
