I recently added a set of 11"wide rims and tall M/T radials to the rear of my '93 Vette. Last night when driving home the information center LITE UP LIKE A CHRISTMAS TREE. Actually scared the hell out of me.
After research this morning, I now understand the situation. My recommendation/solution is to UNPLUG the rear ABS sensors which in turn also DISABLE the ASR unit. (from search function)
IS THIS ALL THAT IS NEEDED? I would appreciate some advice from some one who has done this.
if the tire size is that different, gee... all sorts of odd things will happen.
pull the fuse.
I dusted off the '93 owners manual this morning and checked for fuse applications. It appears there is a 20a maxi fuse that controls the ABS/ASR ECU.
If this fuse does the job, there will be no need to remove the ASR or diddle with the ABS sensors.
As I grow older, there are times the easiest ways to accomplish the mission seem to just slip past.
