I am looking for a good place to put an MSD 6AL ignition box in a 1996 LT4 Corvette. There is a lot more stuff under the hood on this one than there was on my 1984. If anyone has found a good conflict free place please fill me in. A pic or two would be appreciated. TKX

No one to date have done this or at least I have not seen another. This is my 93. Hope this helps.
More its away from heat vibration and other electronics the better.
Follow the instructions to a T esp with wiring so you dont encounter rfi (hope the term is right) type issues
No offense Camacho but slap who told you that was a great idea

No one told me, I came up with. I just can't see anywhere else without it being a crappy job. The pics on the internet that were available showed hacked jobs on the fire wall. Anywhere in the engine compartment has heat. Inside the glove box? Nope, tacky. Give me a better solution with a pic. Thanks.

Bottom line is, what does your car run (time slip)?
This might be a dumb question but I don't know much about msd. Does this work with the factory computer for the fuel injection or is there more to it. I tried to read up on it at the msd site but it really does not say.
Yes, it works w/the factory computer. All the MSD box does (when it works), is be an "on/off" switch for the coil. In other words, it replaces the stock ignition module.

As Cuisinart mentioned, the ideal mounting area for MSD boxes in the coolest area with the least vibration. If you look at where the pros in Nascar and NHRA mount their boxes, you will see that they are in the cockpit. The top of the motor is the worst place to put the thing. Can't get hotter, can't have more vibration. May look cool, but far from optimal.
